Tired of the BS

You don't know when, you don't know why, but one morning you are going to wake up and say "I'm not going to put up with the bullshit anymore...I don't have the patience or time for it." And ladies & gentleman, I have reached that point.

The more days the Good Lord allows me to see, the more I see that I don't have time for certain things in my life. I don't have the patience like I used to. People I used to hang out with, are now just faces I see as I pass by. Right now my life is really centered on my education. (Which I'm going to cut this post short...got some work to do.)

Group Work: The Real Benefits

Don't you love working in groups? Sometimes you are glad to work in groups but then there are times when you feel like you want to bite your group member's f*cking head off. Back in high school, my English teacher figured out the ultimate way to make group work a pleasant experience. Her method was: You were assigned a group and a presentation. When it was complete you were given a group grade, which was also your individual grade. Everybody had a chance to 'make' a better grade or what they felt they deserved by 'taking' points from other group members. (I will give an example for my slow readers)
Project Grade:95
Your Grade: 95
Tom: 95 Bob: 95
Jane: 95

But wait a minute, Jane barely made it to the group meetings and therefor was only given the task of printing out the material, which she forgot to bring in the day of the presentation, but thank GOD the library has student printing. Tom, who also barely made it to the meetings, was always in ____ball practice. He wasn't really worried about his grades, given the fact he's going to get into a college based on his batting average, not presentation skills. But he did give you his work in a timely manner, but left you with rewording it and putting the power-point together. Then there is Bob. Good ole Bob, didn't even know what group he was in until last night (forgetting the fact that you had sent out regular emails/texts). He didn't even bother dressing in the proper attire and was halfway sleep when the group was presenting.  Thank heavens you already did his part and was not worried. So after laying the facts on the table, the new grades were
Your Grade: 145
Tom: 90
Bob: 65
Jane: 80

And that my friends is how I passed English. J/K......................But you get my point. Too bad that only worked back then in high school. Now the person in charge don't give a damn how it's done, as long as it gets done. Forget who was up all night, wasting their last little bit of ink, correcting other people's mistakes, showing up on time, being the only one willing to arrive early AND stay late; basically picking up the slack. To all that you have done, no hand clap, pat on the back, congrats, not even a silent thank-you. Only the feeling of an un-reportable rape of your sweat and work.
